WOS GU11PA WIN GOLD at MIST on FULL FIELD
The
West Ottawa Girls U11 Premier A soccer team tackled, passed, kicked and
scored their way to an impressive finish, capturing the gold medal in
the Girls U12 division of the Mississippi Invitational Soccer
Tournament, played in Carleton Place on the weekend of July 17-18th.
The feat was made even more impressive by the fact that they played
against older girls, played on a full field for the first time ever and
allowed no goals during regulation time for the entire tournament. The
girls entered their first game with more than a few butterflies in
their stomachs on Saturday morning against an extremely tough West
Ottawa U12 team. This was understandable as they only had one practice

West Ottawa Girls Blast to Gold
The West Ottawa Girls U11 Premier soccer team blasted their way to the gold medal at the Cumberland Cobras Snakebite tournament in Orleans during June 26-27th. Facing three other Cumberland teams in the tier 1 division, the West Ottawa Warriors finished with 4 wins out of 5 games and the most goals scored at 13.
The Warriors set the tone with the first game by scoring their first goal of the tournament within 10 seconds of play. Throughout the weekend they were able to shut down their opponents by moving the ball quickly into space, excellent passing, and hustling for every ball resulting in a tie for the lowest goals against total. WOS BU11 Premier B (GSC) were finalists at GIST
tournament bringing home the Silver medal. Congratulations
to the boys who worked really hard in extremely hot weather to earn the

GU10P Win IceBreaker GOLD
The WOS GU10 Premier Team (GSC), "Wildcats", won 1st place GOLD in
the 16th Annual Icebreaker Tournament
May 29-30, 2010.
The newly formed team, in their first
tournament
of the season, powered their way into 1st place overcoming teams from
Montreal,
Mississuaga, Kingston and Ottawa. They showed courage and grew as a
team, with a
couple of the games resulting in shootouts (giving parents more
excitement than expected) and finally won the final 4-2 against a strong
Tornades
